Yeah, there was some failing component or some such. Microsoft seem unlucky with this sort of stuff, given the Zune crap too...

That doesn't sound like poor design, although after looking into the reason (the heatsink was exerting the wrong amount of pressure or some such due to the way it was fitted) it seems there was a manufacturing process issue, like with all of those Macbooks that would overheat. Hmm. It seems that you get what you pay for with your cut-price manufacturing ;)

Anyway I did finally get an XBox 360 (yay) and my Gamertag thing is zootm, should anyone still be on this bandwagon.
