At the moment I'm mostly keeping up with Scrubs series 4 (because E4 shows the same episodes four times a night, two at a time) which I think I've already seen, back in '05 when I had cable. I've seen the end of series 5 but not the meat of it. I don't know if this country has even got series six.

Also, Charlie Brooker's Screen Wipe is worth a mention, for his bitter wit.

New episodes of Life on Mars last night were good, such a well-written show, shame it's only a six-part series, according to the RT. First series had eight. Good acting as well. Anyone else catch it?

And finally, Top Gear of course.

Charlie Brooker is a legend, I love Screen Wipe  . Other than that, I'm mostly just watching Battlestar Galactica, House, and 24; I'm not very good at tuning in at a certain time so unless I get hooked on something I watch very little TV.

Isn't this basically the same as your Worth Watching? thread?

Anyhow, besides the previously stated The Unit (not based on my genatalia) I've been watching tons of Denver Nuggets and N.C. Tarheels Basketball and, starting this weekend, I'm going to return from my 2 year hiatus and give NASCAR a go.

Both come on Sunday night during the hours of 6 to 9 - for the rest of the time during the week, no TV.

The Daily Show
Bam's Unholy Union.

That's about it, apart from the occasional Adult Swim bits and pieces - ATHF, Futurama and Family Guy repeats.

So that wasn't entirely true. I've watched the first season of the US version of The Office. Having watched some of the UK version it's a bit weird seeing essentially the same cast of characters doing similar skits with different accents. I find it painful, and I find myself fast-forwarding, while watching the characters of Michael (US) and David Brent (UK). The rest of the show is just not-quite-awkward enough for me to stomach. :) I have the second season (and the third up to the most recently aired episode) downloaded and ready to watch when I find the time.

So basically my first post pertains to shows I catch while watching cable TV, and the second pertains to the TV show I download. :whee:

Just watched the entire first season of House of a couple of weeks. Started on the 2nd now. Me and the GF watch a couple of episodes at a time every few days.

I have come to the conclusion that if you can keep Chase the Aussie away from the patients there is a significant reduction in total organ failure crisis. It's true, every time he walks into the patients room all the lights and sirens start going off, the patient goes into shock and starts writhing around ubtill House turns up and says either, "stop the meds" or "Start the anti-biotics".

I tell you that Chase is a damn dangerous doc.

Not many apparently :P

Quote

"Lost" crashed in the ratings this week, hitting an all-time low for a new episode. ABC's drama about plane crash survivors stranded on a mysterious island drew an estimated 12.8 million viewers Wednesday, according to preliminary figures from Nielsen Media Research. That's well off the peak of more than 20 million for the drama that became an instant sensation when it debuted in September 2004.

Yes, except for the fact that they're fundamentally different, since this is a "What was the last TV show you watched / What series are you watching" thread, with a more acceptable title, where the other thread was for shows you haven't seen. :whee:

If we had better coverage I'd watch NASCAR, it's the best motorsport for spectators by a long way. Races are infrequently shown, on Channel 5, at 2am, on a random weekday, chopped down into a one hour slot. Yet Sky Sports spends hours covering Speedway, darts, and people voluntarily shitting themselves for money

Yep. I have 1 & 2 seasons. But I don't want to know anything about three until I get a chance to see it.

No. Just another lame serial drama that goes no where because they can't give away too much of the main storyline, otherwise they can't milk it for several years. If a show like that came out and in the beginning it was planed to only be one, two or three seasons that I might get interested.

But no more watching a show as they drag on for the first four years just with more and crazier msyteries then wrap them, all up in a half a season when they find out they are getting canceled.

Yeah, that's what kind of annoyed me about the X-Files (which was a terrific series otherwise). It was wrapped up a bit too conveniently in the last couple episodes. It had frequent monster of the week style episodes, which made up for the dragging main story line.
