Software upgraded, spammers removed

You've probably noticed the hundreds of spammers registering on the site over the past few days. They managed to do this due to a flaw in the IPB captcha system. That flaw has been corrected by the developers and so I've upgraded the forums to the newest version, which has those fixes built-in.
I also took this opportunity to re-purchase the IP.Blog addon and upgrade ours to the latest version. There's been a lot of changes and some parts of the blogs are currently looking a little weird but all that will hopefully get fixed over the next few days.
Finally, I deleted the 400+ spammers that registered while the loophole was open. In the rather unlikely event that I caught some RealPeople™ in the cull, I apologise and invite you to register again. In the even less likely situation that a regular member got removed, contact me and I'll restore you from the DB backup I made before the upgrades.

Is this related to the recent news about Captchas, in general, being broken? There was an article about it on Ars yesterday (or the day before). Apparently, spammers are now farming out the work of cracking Captchas to live humans in India.
As long as we are bitching about shit that doesn't work, quick edit STILL does not work for me, and I've had a persistent problem connecting to the site on my Mac (Leopard 10.5.5 with Firefox 3.03) whereby if I try to access the site, it's not found. I keep hitting the try again button in Firefox for 5 or 6 times, and then it finally connects. I don't have the same problem on my Vista Business laptop, or in Safari.
