Can anyone tell me why this is happening (see attached) I have tried clearing my cache and private data. And used more than one browser to visit the page.Attached File  frontpg.JPG (116.36K)

I get the same thing in Firefox, and a differently broken page in Chrome. I mentioned it a couple of months ago in another thread, but nothing got done. I eventually got sick of looking at it and changed my bookmark to the forum page instead of the home page.

You might want to try flock and seamonkey as well.

"Works fine on my end." :D

By which I mean to say that it's broken here too. I'll inform the Pabinator. Watch this space! (Not too closely please :whee: )

Is anything actually going to happen about this problem?

Probably not. I informed Pab about it long ago (before this thread was ever created) and nothing happened. I eventually changed my bookmark to the forums page rather than the home page so it wouldn't annoy me.

This might be rude of me, but if the forum admin is never around, shouldn't back end access be given to someone who is? :-\

Probably, but things are slow enough around here that it doesn't come up too often. The only thing missing from the home page right now is an announcement that was a couple of years old anyway. The page looks naked without it, but I don't think it was vital info or anything.

No, but when they do come up, we get these big threads where everyone says "works for me" "doesn't work on anything" etc. and it just never gets fixed. It's just frustrating that it COULD be but nobody seems to care to do it :(

Pab has been contacted about both of these problems, at least twice each, and at this point we could either A. keep emailing him over and over, B. Wait for him to fix it or C. try to make the fixes as easy as possible

This has been discussed, and we're going to send him an email using information collected from these threads, like what browsers and/or users are affected, approximately when did the problems begin, etc, to include everything we know that may be useful in solving the problem. Hopefully this will make things as easy as possible on the actual software tinkering side. Then it's off to Pab and hopefully he'll fix it.

True but that page is all the site has to attract new users (and therefore potential M++ customers)

Unfortunately, I don't think Pab's been actively seeking new users for a while now.

Pab is always seeking new users. In fact if he's not used at least twice a day, he gets really irritable. :whistling:

I think the frontpage problem is being looked into. :)
