You Mac user! It is the inalienable right of non-Mac users to maximise their windows! It is what makes us human!
In seriousness a lot of people have taken this "flexible layout" stuff way too far; it's objectively easier to read columns which are narrower than the average screen size, and a lot of these designers don't seem to realise that forcing the text into a smaller space by crushing the layout is often preferable to making "maximum use" of all the screen real-estate. On the other hand the best thing to do would be both if it were possible.

Srsly tho, when I use a bookmark to go to the View New Content results, it says "No new content", but then if I click on the View New Content button at the top-right, the new content results are shown properly. What the? :whee:

That just sounds like you need to update your bookmark. Or are you saying it is definitely the same link already?
Progress report: I fixed a bunch of broken smilies yesterday. Still working on the Shoutbox. I got it running but it wiped all the old shouts for some reason. So now I'm trying to get the old site running on my local server so I can attempt the upgrade process again and try to upgrade the shoutbox without losing anything. Seeing the old look makes me sad, as I really liked it.

The latter. It seems like the request (or referrer or whatever) needs to come from within the site... or something like that.
Smilies yay! :w00t:

While I can't do anything about that right now, I have enabled a few more of the sidebar features to make it more worthwhile. Having the sidebar open uses up a decent chunk of the page width, making the forum listing look more reasonable on higher resolution screens. I recommend people give it a try if they've closed it before due to lack of content.
