Kay, so... when I went to the portal before I was logged in, the Shoutbox appeared at the top of the page. Then I signed in and the shoutbox disappeared, and if I click on the link, it tells me I don't have permission to access it. WTF?

You Mac user! It is the inalienable right of non-Mac users to maximise their windows! It is what makes us human!

In seriousness a lot of people have taken this "flexible layout" stuff way too far; it's objectively easier to read columns which are narrower than the average screen size, and a lot of these designers don't seem to realise that forcing the text into a smaller space by crushing the layout is often preferable to making "maximum use" of all the screen real-estate. On the other hand the best thing to do would be both if it were possible.

One thing I noticed is that I am no longer logged out whenever switching from my home network to my work network (and vice-versa). That is a definite improvement.

The "View New Content" thingy is broken. Shut up, Sandman. :P

Srsly tho, when I use a bookmark to go to the View New Content results, it says "No new content", but then if I click on the View New Content button at the top-right, the new content results are shown properly. What the? :whee:

That just sounds like you need to update your bookmark. Or are you saying it is definitely the same link already?

Progress report: I fixed a bunch of broken smilies yesterday. Still working on the Shoutbox. I got it running but it wiped all the old shouts for some reason. So now I'm trying to get the old site running on my local server so I can attempt the upgrade process again and try to upgrade the shoutbox without losing anything. Seeing the old look makes me sad, as I really liked it.

The latter. It seems like the request (or referrer or whatever) needs to come from within the site... or something like that.

Smilies yay! :w00t:

The overall style is nice, but there's WAY too much unnecessary whitespace now:

While I can't do anything about that right now, I have enabled a few more of the sidebar features to make it more worthwhile. Having the sidebar open uses up a decent chunk of the page width, making the forum listing look more reasonable on higher resolution screens. I recommend people give it a try if they've closed it before due to lack of content.

You Mac user!

I'd rather you call me the son of a coward and a whore! :P
(Srsly though, never accuse me of such blaspheme ever again)

I haven't used a maximized window for any (non video) applications since I switched to 16:10.

How do you code in a non-maximized window?

There is, but the URL has changed. It is now:

http://pabook.net/forums/rss/blog/

Does that link work properly for you?

shakey, techs: Please stay on-topic, as the notice at the top of the page requests.

Weird thing with the "Recent Blog Posts" on the sidebar. On the portal, it says "Likewise Chica in Images and Words", but on the forum page it says "Likewise by Chica". The former is a bit confusing, is there any way it could be changed to match the latter?

I've fixed the blog headers being ugly (or even blank) but there are still other problems with the blog system. For one I don't seem to be getting email notifications about comments, and there also hasn't been any new entries listed on the blog RSS feed since the 19th. I've looked at everything I can think might cause these problems but so far haven't found any solutions. Meh.

I've got a problem. When I rightclick on the fourm I would like to read and click "Open in Background Tab" in Opera, it screws up and just brings me back to the Forum Index.
