Member Groups and Priviliges

The who's who and what of member groups.

Members

Guest
A user who has not registered an account and logged in is a Guest. Guests can view most of the areas of the community, but they cannot post new topics or replies to topics. The single exception to this is in the Real Life™ forum, where guests can post to allow for anonymity.

Validating
A user who has registered at the community and logged in but not yet validated their account through the email they were sent when they signed up. Same abilities as a Guest.

Member
After a user has registered at the community and logged in with their username and password they will be viewing the community as a Member. Members can start topics, reply to topics, post attachments, set an avatar and signature, use the personal messenger system, upload to the gallery and more.

Member+
As Member but with an upgraded attachment size limit, gallery webspace and access to an extra Member+ forum. Member+ level is assigned on a member-by-member basis at the discretion of the staff. Generally any member who has been around for some time, made a decent amount of posts and has behaved well will be upgraded to Member+.

Member++
As Member+ but with an upgraded attachment size limit, gallery webspace, access to an extra Member++ forum and an @pabook.net email address. Member++ level is a paid subscription service. To learn more and sign up, visit the Subscriptions and Donations page.

Staff

Moderator
A user assigned by the higher-level staff to lead and moderate all forums within the community. They have the abilities to pin/unpin, lock/unlock, move topics and delete, edit posts.

Admin
Responsible for the smooth operating of the community. An admin has the same abilities as a Team member but additionally has full control over all other aspects of the forums such as member accounts, member groups, categories and forums. Assigned by the Founder.

Founder
There is only one founder. Has the same abilities as an Admin but is also responsible for the website itself through software installation, modification, upgrades etc.


Other

Member-
As Member but with removed privileges including attachments, gallery webspace and the ability to start new topics. Assigned at the discretion of staff to members that break rules. Members in this group can become a Member again through persistant good behaviour.

Banned
Similar limited abilities and permissions as a Guest. Assigned at the discretion of staff to members that break rules in cases where the offence was serious or repeated despite warnings. In most circumstances there is no way back for a banned member.
