Medieval 2: Total War. The combat stuff I've gotten pretty good at but I'm trying to get over playing the campaign as if it were Civ 4. Seams gave me some tips. Still learning though.

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. I just bought a PS3, and holy fuck, this is the best game I've played since Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb, and Prince of Persia: Sands of Time! The graphics are absolutely mind blowing! The jungles are lush and well detailed, the lighting effects are supreme, and these are the best looking faces I've ever seen. A lot of games suffer from the uncanny valley when it comes to faces, but at points, it looks like I'm watching a Pixar movie, the facial detail is so good. The dialogue is really funny and witty too, which is a plus. Very clever dialogue, and the main character is very human and very funny. The combat is excellent too, with some great melee combos, and an excellent cover system (not quite as good as Gears of War, but still pretty good). This is definitely a game worth buying a PS3 for. I think overall, the PS3 has better exclusives than the 360. The 360 only really two exclusives, both which are shooters. Halo (which is love/hate for most people), and Gears of War, but the PS3 has more diversity. It has Heavenly Sword (tried the demo, really great combat), Uncharted (there's no game like this for the 360), and Metal Gear Solid 4. Motorstorm is also really fun, with great graphics, and an excellent sense of speed.

I tried the Mirror's Edge demo. I really like the stylized art style, and the gameplay seems just amazing. This is leagues ahead of Assassin's Creed. It seems pretty hard though, and I ended up getting stuck, unable to complete the demo.

I'm happy that Fallout 3 decidedly isn't "Oblivion with guns" as a handful of reviews stated. The only bad thing from Oblivion that got carried over is the thing where enemies will tend to chase you forever once they've spotted you. That can be annoying. But thankfully, all the other things that were horribly wrong with Oblivion don't seem to have been carried over.

Yep. They should have used a higher level-cap though. My character was level 20 before he could even equip power armor, and I'm still probably only about halfway through the main quest. Granted, I did spend a lot of time just exploring, but I've still probably explored less than 50% of the available areas. 20 levels just isn't sufficient.

I managed to snag Rainbow 6: Vegas, GRAW2 and Splinter Cell: Double Agent for 12.99 a peice. I had the first two games for 360, but never got a chance to play them. I'm going to start on those three games after I finish Uncharted, which I'm about halfway through at the moment.

I'm currently hooked on the multiplayer Warhawk demo, which I will probably buy the full version of once I get paid. It seems like a much better version of Halo. I'm also playing a lot of WipEout HD in zone mode. It takes me back to the days of trying to perfect lap times in Gran Turismo 3, but more trippy and psychedelic.

Tried out the demo for Force Unleashed. Seems pretty fun, even though I'm not a Star Wars fan (though admittedly Rogue Squadron was a great game). Pure seemed like total rubbish, based on the demo. I don't get why it's been praised so highly in reviews.

I'm not a big fan of the movies, but a lot the Star Wars games I've played have been really great. Also, even though the movies have a lot of flaws when viewed from a critical standpoint, they lend a lot of weight to the gaming experience. You get the feeling that your part of some bigger universe than that single game.

What, no KotOR? That game was awesome.

Also, the ending in Fallout 3 is highly disappointing, to say the least.

You might be thinking of Rogue Squadron. The Hoth level where you take down AT-ATs in snowspeeders was amazingly fun.

Haha, was it the first one or the second one where we would just sit in that burning warehouse killing all the infinite guys? I kicked so much ass at that game

Also, I'm pretty sure that in order to secure the rights to Star Wars for a video game you are legally obligated to have a Hoth level. They're always so fun. Anyway, I'm pretty sure you were thinking of Shadows of the Empire.

eeeeep

you should come over and hang out. i have a bunch of accidentally small 7 oz coronas that need to go into bellies. also, we can kill the infinite guys.

It could also be the first (and best) level of Shadows of the Empire.

I remember that game. Something about the IG-88 battle being ridiculously hard.

Was playing GTA4, but have put that aside for Chrono Trigger for now.

I haven't had time to game for ages, but I've started playing Team Fortress 2. Lots of fun

Also, Rainbox 6: Vegas 1+2 are awesome, but far too short.
