Upload your desktop to either the gallery or your own webspace and then post the link to it here each time you update it.

Please do not upload your desktop to the forums and don't put images any wider than 600 pixels into your post. If using the gallery this means you can use the "intermediate" image created by the gallery. Don't forget to still link to your gallery picture as well so people can access the high-res version if they want.

Don't forget the desktop album rules when uploading:

Quote

Name your desktop image with your username, e.g. "Squinky". One desktop image per member. To update your desktop image delete the old one and then upload the new one.

Starting with my own...

Latest development version of gnome. Gentoo linux... etc.

Click for larger-but-still-scaled-down-for-size-restrictions version of the desktop.

And I'm back too linux now. I should really stick with an OS......

edit: it's geocities... with a 3mb / hour bandwidth limit. The picture is just over 1mb :/. I need real hosting.

I uploaded mine, but I'll have to wait until it get approved. I'm still a little confused about certain aspects of the Gallery. :( Hopefully as people get more comfortable with it, it will be used more.

In the meantime, here's a pic of a cool Firefox theme I'm using.

Also, I was browsing the desktops gallery the other day and there was this pic with a dark theme and a monkey skeleton dressed as the grim reaper. I scrolled down to see "which of these goth kids had this desktop." It was randman's. :P

edit: zootm, your link is wrong. :(

This might be a little out of place, but what's the point of the gallery? You can post an attachment directly with your post, so why the gallery? I'm not bitching, I just don't really understand it.

The gallery is a little something extra for Member+ and above. Regular members can only post attachments, whereas the rest can use the gallery. As for the Desktop section of the gallery, I think it's nice to have a place where I can browse all the users desktops at once.

Here's where I was confused. The image I uploaded was called Sandman2012.jpg. Do I still need to give the image a name in the gallery part (where it asks you to name your picture)?

Yes. The filename can be anything. What matters is the name you enter when uploading.
